Robinho backs Marcelo for Real Madrid success

Robinho has backed new Real Madrid signing Marcelo for success.

Marcelo is moving to Real in January from Fluminense and is a teammate with Robinho in the Brazil national team.

Robinho said: "He is a great player. I have only played with him three or four times for Brazil. He has a promising future and I hope that he can be at Madrid for as long as Roberto Carlos, which will not be easy."

"I've told him to stay calm and be positive. If he does not begin well, he must keep a cool head, because if you know how to play and you have quality, you can play anywhere in the world."

"Playing for Real Madrid B will be good for him. I am sure he will show how good he is with them."
