Roberto Carlos Upset With Real Madrid Supporters

Real Madrid left-back Roberto Carlos said he was stunned and disappointed at being booed by club supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu during Saturday's 1-0 win over Murcia.

The criticism came after the Brazilian struggled to find his form in the match against the Primera Liga strugglers.

He was nearly red carded for pulling Luis Garcia's shirt and was also vary fortunate that referee Teixeira Vitienes did not book him for a late foul inside the box.

Madrid's fans are well-known for their turn-coat behaviour and were quick to jeer Roberto Carlos on Saturday.

"It has never happened to me before in the eight years I have been here," he said.

"I felt bad at the moment it happened, nobody likes to be booed by the public. It is not nice when the Bernabeu boos you, but I understand the fans spend their money and they want to see the best," he added.
