Roberto Carlos: I'll leave Real Madrid as champion

Roberto Carlos says he has two years left at the top level in Europe.

The Brazilian wing-back is leaving Real Madrid at the end of this season and told AS: "I made that decision and I'll stick to it. I cannot allow myself to take a step back. I did the same with Brazil."

"It is not because of what happened in Munich. I do not have regrets about that. That final lasted 180 minutes and not ten seconds. I do not consider myself the culprit.

"But the time for Marcelo or (Miguel )Torres has arrived. What more can I gain in Madrid? Anger? Pressure? I have won three European Cups, three leagues, two intercontinental ones. I was champion in my first year and I will leave a champion."

"I have two years left in a team at the top level, one season in Brazil and then I'll coach. I feel better than ever. You will soon see next season if I am finished."
