Roberto Carlos defends Real Madrid mate Hierro

Roberto Carlos says the Real Madrid defence should shoulder responsibility for the criticism Fernando Hierro has endured this week.

The aging veteran was blamed for Real's poor defensive showing in Wednesday night's defeat in Turin.

But Roberto Carlos said, "I share the responsibility with him. I am also a defender. Why do they not criticise me?"

"We are all guilty. It does not matter to me what is said, because a month ago we were all galacticos."

"In the extra days we have in training, I'm sure we can fix our defensive problems. But sure, we have conceded a lot of goals this season."
