Roberto Carlos: Chelsea target Makelele is poorly advised

Roberto Carlos has blasted the agent of Real Madrid teammate Clause Makelele.

Asked if Makelele's self-imposed absence from training last week had affected the players' morale, Roberto Carlos snapped: "He is badly advised."

"His representative has ducked out - he should be defending his player!"

"Makelele is a very important player for us and here we are always going to defend him, because he is a friend and a great professional."

Makelele is in the squad for Real's SuperCopa clash with Mallorca.

"He is in a difficult situation because we don't know how the fans are going to receive him," added Roberto Carlos.

"Makelele wants to stay, the only difficulty is the new contract he wants. The club can fix this."
