Roberto Carlos assured over new Real Madrid contract

Real Madrid sports chief Predrag Mijatovic has assured Roberto Carlos they will address his new contract in October.
 
The Brazilian has declared he wants to stay with Real, but has concerns over a 12-month option in his current deal that will only kick-in should he play 35 games this season. Roberto Carlos wants that scrapped and in a meeting with Mijatovic yesterday was assured they'll sit down in October to discuss a revised deal.

"I am happy. The decision of my family was influential. Fabio Capello also is important and with Mijatovic I agreed to play on," said Roberto Carlos.

"The opinion of those nearest to me was most important."
