River Plate's Mascherano wants Real Madrid move

River Plate midfielder Javier Mascherano wants a move to Real Madrid.

The 21 year-old confirmed yesterday he had spoken with Real, along with Barcelona and Deportivo La Coruna, about a move to Spain in January.

AS says Mascherano is desperate to join Real - at any cost. Though he won't declare his ambitions publicly as he does not want to upset River's massive support.

Real will pay around £6.5 million for the Argentina international, with personal terms all but agreed after Mascherano's agent held lengthy talks with the Spanish club in August.
