Rivaldo: An Honour To Join Real

Milan playmaker Rivaldo says that he'd be open to a move to Real Madrid in January.

"It's only logical that every player dreams of a transfer to Real. "It would be an honour," he apparently told Spanish daily 'AS'.

"We'll just have to wait for a few months to see if there is any contact between the two clubs over a possible move to Madrid."

"But let us not forget that I still have two years left on my current contract with Milan and I have total respect for my club."

Rivaldo's words come after his Brazil team-mate Ronaldo said he'd ask the Merengues to sign the former Barcelona star.

His coach Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, was quoted as saying on the club's official site: "I have talked with Rivaldo, we exchanged our opinions. I wouldn't say what we told each other, however I'm happy with the meeting. If Rivaldo wants, he will speak with the press."
