Real will attack Juventus in Turin, says Pavon

Real Madrid defender Francisco Pavon has said the Spanish side will not be content with defending their 2-1 lead when they play Juventus in the return leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.

"Whatever system we decide to use we will be going all out to win in Turin," he told a news conference on Monday. "This team never steps onto the pitch to sit back and wait to see what happens."

The young centre back said that Real's victory in last week's first leg at the Bernabeu did not give the reigning European champions much of an advantage over the Italian side, who took secured the Italian title at the weekend.

"We will be treating this game like a final because the first leg result was so close and is a little misleading," he said.

"It looks good for us, but if they score ... It is always difficult to get a goal against an Italian team at their own stadium, but whichever side scores first will have a big advantage."

Real will have to make do without midfielder Claude Makelele for Wednesday's match at the Delle Alpi.

The French international strained a thigh muscle in the goalless draw against Recreativo Huelva on Saturday and club doctors say he will be out of action for two weeks.

Ronaldo is doubtful for the game after sustaining a calf injury in the first leg against Juve, but the Brazilian has been included in the squad which will travel to Turin on Tuesday morning.

The good news for coach Vicente del Bosque is that midfielders Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo look to have shrugged off minor niggles and should play.

Leading European striker Raul is also set to start after making a swift recovery from his recent appendix operation.
