Real to launch Nakata bid

Real Madrid are reportedly seriously considering bringing Roma's Japanese midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata to the Bernabeu next season.

24-year-old Nakata is currently with Fabio Capello's Roma side but has had few chances to prove himself in the Italian Serie A. The situation couldn't be more ideal - Real are hunting a top quality attacker and at the same time, want to extend their fanbase and merchandising within the Japanese market.

The arrival of Nakata would also bring important television contracts to the Madrid-based club as well as advertising from top Japanese companies. Meanwhile, Nakata has openly admitted that he would prefer to play either in Italy or Spain as the English Premiership, to which he has been linked with a move, would be too physical.
