Real to get cut-price Ronaldo?

Reports from Madrid on Friday are claiming that Inter Milan have offered Brazilian striker Ronaldo at a cut-down price to the Spanish champions.

Real apparently received a phonecall on Thursday evening from Reinaldo Pita, who is not officially Ronaldo's agent but carries weight in the transfer world, who proposed the transfer of the former Barcelona star for just £18million.

According to Pita, Ronaldo is not happy in the Italian Serie A and is aching to return to the Spanish league. Pita added that the player has made a full recovery from his knee injury and is back in top condition.

Real's directors however, are taking it all with a pinch of salt. Ronaldo has not played in top flight competiton since he fell injured over a year ago and no-one can be sure that he is in a physical state to return to top level football.

Added to which, the £18 million fee seems too good to be true. Before he was operated on in April 2000, Ronaldo enjoyed a successful spell with Inter, hitting 66 goals in just 98 matches. He was La Liga's 'Pichichi' during his one season at Barcelona, netting 34 goals in 37 games.
