The transfer saga has been going on for sometime now, because Real Madrid were hoping to sign Lillian Thuram from Parma.
However, now that the French international has gone to Juventus, the Spanish Champions have once again turned their attentions to the Argentine.
The Merengues have offered the Brazilian Rodrigo Fabri to Sporting, in the hope that they will let the 23-year-old leave for the Bernabeu.
At the Portuguese clubs training camp in Switzerland the player said: "I don't know
anything about it, but it is flattering to know that a big club like Real Madrid are interested in signing me. But all I can say is that at the moment I am a Sporting Lisbon player."
However, coach Laszlo Boloni is expected to reject the Madrid approach because the talented defender will be a key figure in the Romanian's plans for next season.
