Real still favourites

Real Madrid remain 3/1 favourites to retain their Champions League crown.

The Spanish giants, winners three times in the past five seasons, head the market with Coral after Friday morning's second-stage draw in Geneva.

Vincente Del Bosque's all-stars won't have it easy in the second phase however, after being drawn with AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Lokomotiv Moscow.

Real are 8/11 to top their group with the Barking-based layers.

Valencia are next best in the betting at 5/1 after drawing Arsenal, Roma and Ajax.

They're 5/4 to top their group while Arsene Wenger's men are 2/1 shots.

Arsenal are now 7/1 in the outright betting, while Manchester United are 6/1 chances after drawing old foes Juventus and Deportivo as well as Liverpool's conquerors FC Basel. United are 5/4 to top the group, with Juve 2/1 shots.

Newcastle are 8/1 outsiders to win their group after being handed a very tough task.

They must face Barcelona, who won all six of their games in the opening stage.

That means an emotional return to the Nou Camp for coach Sir Bobby Robson.

Also in Newcastle's group are Serie A big guns Inter Milan, and last season's beaten finalists Bayer Leverkusen.

If you fancy the Toon to win the competition, they're still available at 66/1 in the outright betting.

William Hill, who make Real Madrid 7/2 favourites, go 9/1 about the chances of an all-English final.

They go 13/2 Manchester United, 7/1 Arsenal and 33/1 Newcastle.
