Real set for TV cash windfall

Real have sold the rights to their television station to a business in the Middle East, which will see the club cash in over a six-year period.

The Madrilenos have secured a contract with the business that will see the club rake in 55 million pesetas for every year of the deal. The satellite channel offers exclusive interviews with the team's stars and broadcasts many of the club's best games from its glorious past. Real had hoped to find a buyer in the Japanese market but with preparations for next summer's World Cup well underway, their proposal was given the thumbs down by businesses in the Far East.
