Real's Figo staying put

Portugal star Luis Figo has ruled out any move from Real Madrid after the Spanish club replaced their Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz with Jose Antonio Camacho.

"I've two years left of my contract and I plan to see it out," the 31-year-old told sports daily A Bola.

Figo, who had to adapt to playing with England captain David Beckham last season, admitted he had thought of quitting Madrid.

"I was saturated ... but after thinking it over I decided to stay."

He said Real's limited squad was to blame for their trophy-less season.

"We were playing three matches a week and in the end we just cracked ... at the worst possible moment," he said.

Figo, at the Portugal Euro 2004 squad training camp, was reacting to reports that Camacho, a no-nonsense coach, had already queried the balance of the Real Madrid squad he has inherited.
