Real's Baptista out of action for up to five weeks

Real Madrid forward Julio Baptista will be out of action for up to five weeks after injuring his knee in Wednesday's 4-1 Champions League victory over Rosenborg.

The Brazilian, who was substituted at half time against the Norwegians, has strained the ligaments in his left knee, Real said on their website.

Baptista will miss Real's return trip to face Rosenborg in two weeks time and up to five Primera Liga matches.

After a low-key start to his first season at the Bernabeu Baptista has impressed in recent games after coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo moved him from the left flank to a more central role.

He joins countryman Ronaldo on the sidelines, after Real's leading scorer twisted ankle ligaments in the side's 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid last weekend.
