Real reclaim top spot after comeback win over Valladolid

Real Madrid reclaimed top spot in the Primera Liga on Sunday after fighting back from two goals down to snatch a 3-2 win at Valladolid, thanks to a last-gasp strike from Ronaldo.

The result lifted the defending champions two points clear of second-placed Valencia, who recorded a crushing 6-1 victory away to Valencia on Saturday.

Valladolid, who were dealt a humiliating 7-2 thrashing when the two sides met at the Bernabeu earlier this season, had looked on course for victory after a well-taken double from midfielder Oscar had put them 2-0 ahead at halftime.

But Real were a different side after the break and drew level with a close-range strike from Ronaldo and a Luis Figo penalty.

Both sides had chances late in the game, but it was Real who grabbed the win, Ronaldo claiming his second with a sharp turn and strike from just inside the area a minute into injury time.
