Real ready renewed Quiroga bid

Real Madrid are about to make a second attempt to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Facundo Hernan Quiroga according to reports on Wednesday.

Vicente Del Bosque is keen to build a solid defence for the club's centenary year and has requested the signing of a top class central defender to stand in for Aitor Karanka and Fernando Hierro.

The Real coach sees the 23-year-old, who is considered a hot prospect for the future, a suitable candidate for the role.

Real's main concern now is to convince Lions president, Miguel Ribeiro Telles, to part with the Argentine ace.

Real may attempt to include out-of-favour striker Rodrigo Fabri as part of a swap deal in their bid to land Quiroga.
