Real out to score goals against Arsenal

Real Madrid will stay faithful to its attacking philosophy when it meets Arsenal for a place in the last eight of the Champions League.

"I expect a very difficult match," said Real coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro.

"Arsenal played very well in the first leg by putting a lot of pressure on the midfield and playing quickly up front in counter-attack."

Thierry Henry's strike gave the Gunners a famous 1-0 victory in the first leg of their last 16 clash in the Bernabeu a fortnight ago.

But Caro said that his Real side would not shirk the challenge or disappoint the paying public at Highbury.

"We are determined. We will have to be efficient and play hard to win. Our game philosophy has always been attack and we're not changing that."

"The team that scores most goals will qualify, so we will play to score."

Caro said the game was important for a club who lie 10 points behind Barcelona in the Spanish league and have already been knocked out of the Spanish Cup.

"It's a game of the utmost importance for the players, the club and the supporters. I will pick the best team possible, the most courageous."

"We have some very good players and tomorrow they will have the perfect stage to show that. I always think positively. I'm confident. We have the possibility of qualifying."

Caro, however, did not say whether he would start Brazilian Ronaldo, who has come under fire from Madrid fans in recent weeks and has looked a shadow of the striker who dominated the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.

"Whether Ronaldo plays or not is not the issue. The most important thing is to win," the coach said.
