Real Need Defenders, Not Beckham

Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi blasted Real Madrid's signing of David Beckham, during the official presentation of 24 year old striker Fabrizio Miccoli.

"I wouldn't have signed him, Real needed two defenders, not Beckham," said Moggi.

Juventus had the merit of eliminating the star-studded Merengues from the Champions League semi-finals this season on a 4-2 aggregate.

Real Madrid signed Beckham on Tuesday by dishing out 35 million Euros to Man Utd and 6 million a year to the player.
