Real Madrid youngster’s new contract will run until 2029 and not 2028

Earlier today, various sources confirmed that Real Madrid midfield prodigy Eduardo Camavinga had signed a new contract with the club.

It was claimed that the 20-year-old midfielder had penned a new deal until the summer of 2028, with a mammoth release clause worth €1 billion included in it.

However, now, Fabrizio Romano, who had confirmed the news of the contract signing with his trademark ‘Here we go’, is claiming that Camavinga’s new deal runs longer than initially reported.

Indeed, the Italian transfer expert is stating that the French international is being handed a six-year contract extension by Real Madrid.

As such, Camavinga’s new deal at the Santiago Bernabeu will run until the summer of 2029 and will contain the aforementioned €1 billion release clause.

The 20-year-old has grown into a permanent fixture in the Real Madrid starting XI over the past 12 months or so, making an impression be it as a central midfielder, a defensive midfielder, or even as a makeshift left-back.

Talks about Camavinga’s renewal had been rife for months now and everything is now seemingly done and dusted, with only the official announcement remaining pending.

Apart from Camavinga, Real Madrid have also handed new contracts to Vinicius Jr, Federico Valverde, Eder Militao, and Rodrygo Goes, although none of them have been announced officially yet by the club.
