Real Madrid wrapping up deal for Espanyol defender Sergio

Real Madrid are set to close the permanent signing of on-loan Espanyol defender Sergio Sanchez.

Sergio is currently playing for Michel's Real Madrid B and will sign outright at the end of this season. Real are paying £1.5 million for the centre-half, with the fee rising to £4 million depending on appearances.

The Spain U21 international will join the Real senior squad for preseason training over the summer before it's decided which team he will be playing for next term.
