Two of Real Madrid’s summer signings were made with the long haul in sight – Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler.
The former has got off to a scintillating start to life in Madrid, scoring ten goals in his first eleven games for the club. However, the story has been far from as rosy for the Turkish phenomenon.
Guler suffered a big blow in pre-season when he was diagnosed with a meniscal tear after injuring himself in training.
Los Blancos attempted going down the route of conservative therapy but were forced into the surgical route soon enough. Just when it appeared that he had escaped from the fitness setback, he suffered a muscular blow which once again derailed his debut.
According to reports from AS, the date for Guler’s official debut with Real Madrid has finally been set. After all, he has been training with the group for over a week now, and the management are just waiting to reach 100% physically.
Now in the final phase of his recovery, he should be available to play minutes against Rayo Vallecano on 5th November if everything goes to plan. His debut, in such a scenario, would arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Needless to say, the report indicates that the player is ruled out for El Clasico as the management prefers to exercise caution with his fragile fitness. He has also been excluded from the squad to face Braga midweek.
Guler has been a constant feature in Spanish headlines since his arrival in the summer, and understandably so. After all, he signed for Real Madrid after virtually agreeing terms with Barcelona, a move that only fuelled the hype around his abilities.
Since his move to Madrid, Luka Modric has gone on to hail the player as his heir while Toni Kroos has also taken the player under his wing in training. With his debut finally on the horizon, it is safe to say that fans expect nothing less than pure magic from the Turkish wizard.
The 18-year-old made 20 appearances in the Super Lig last season for Fenerbahce, scoring four goals and providing three assists in the process. Further, he averaged two key passes per game and created seven big chances for the team.
