Real Madrid are refusing to give up on trying to land Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Sun says the Spanish giants believe France star Zinedine Zidane, 33, is ready to call time on his illustrious career after the World Cup finals in Germany and want Ronaldo as his replacement.

Real are ready to offer £20 million for the wing wizard, but face a race against time as United are close to seeing the Portuguese put pen to paper on a new £55,000-a-week contract.
