Real Madrid willing to sell Xabi and Arbeloa

Real Madrid are prepared to sell Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa this month.

El Confidencial says Real chiefs have not ruled out selling the senior duo - and both players know their futures are on shaky ground.

Real are pushing Napoli to revive their long-term interest in Arbeloa, having failed with a bid for the former Liverpool fullback at the end of last season.

The exciting emergence of Dani Carvajal has relegated Arbeloa to strictly a backup role in coach Carlo Ancelotti's plans.

Xabi is in a similar situation, where he will play second fiddle to new signing Toni Kroos for the coming campaign.

Though he signed a new two-year deal earlier this year, Xabi could be sold to a foreign club before the end of the month.
