Real Madrid Will Show Winning Desire Against AC Milan

Real Madrid stopper Pepe insists that the team can extinguish the memories of their defeat at home to AC Milan on Matchday 3 of the Champions League by taking down the Italians at the San Siro this Tuesday.

A late volley from Alexandre Pato gave the Rossoneri a 3-2 win in the Santiago Bernabeu, a result that stunned the Spanish giants.

However, Portuguese international Pepe reckons that Los Blancos can silence the critics by producing a victorious performance to get their season back on track.

Marca quoted the 26-year old saying, “This is the perfect opportunity for us to prove that we are a real team. Winning will show the desire that we have in the dressing room, and we must be focused because this will be a high-paced match.

“Against Milan, we hope to do well and forget about our last defeat.”

In addition, Pepe chose to avoid criticising team-mate Guti, who was involved in a high-profile bust-up with coach Manuel Pellegrini after the shock 4-0 Copa del Rey defeat to minnows Alcorcon on Tuesday evening.

He commented, “He [Guti] is a player with great quality, but the coach has opinions and reasons for his decisions, and we have to respect this.”
