Real Madrid will offer Morientes for Valencia's Baraja

Real Madrid want Valencia midfielder Ruben Baraja - but won't pay cash for the Spanish international.

Baraja is available for £8 million, but Real would prefer a straight player-swap and are ready to offer striker Fernando Morientes in exchange.

Real are confident that Valencia will accept the deal, with Morientes a favourite of trainer Rafa Benitez.
