Real Madrid will listen to offers for €20 million-rated defender this summer

Real Madrid could be in for one of their biggest transfer windows in recent memory.

Kylian Mbappe already appears to be on his way to the Santiago Bernabeu from PSG on a free transfer while work is also being done to rope in Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich.

The 23-year-old Canadian international is seen as a key target by Florentino Perez & co. for the present and the future and the Merengues will go all out for his signing.

Should Davies arrive, it would create an overload of left-backs at Real Madrid, with Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia already at the club and there being the possibility of re-signing Miguel Gutierrez from Girona.

As such, Los Blancos will need to sacrifice someone and AS reports that the Spanish capital club is ready to listen to offers for Mendy in the summer.

The 28-year-old has been the first-choice left-back under Carlo Ancelotti, who places immense trust in the Frenchman. In fact, the manager has called Mendy the best left-back in the world on more than one occasion.

However, the former Olympique Lyon man’s contract expires in 2025 and previous attempts to renew did not go well.

Furthermore, given his well-known fitness issues, the board is in favour of offloading him despite Ancelotti and his staff’s trust in the player.

As such, Real Madrid will listen to offers for the 28-year-old to make room for Davies.

Should things go that way, Mendy is unlikely to be short of suitors for him in the summer transfer window.

For starters, Saudi Arabian clubs are said to be interested in the French defender, whose market value stands at €20 million.

More recently, it was reported that AC Milan could be a destination for Mendy as a replacement for Theo Hernandez, who could move to Bayern to replace Davies.
