Real Madrid will come through bad patch - Perez

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said he is convinced his team will start performing better soon after winning only four of eight games despite signing Michael Owen, Walter Samuel and Jonathan Woodgate.

"I sincerely believe it is only a bad run, that better days are coming," he told the French sports daily l'Equipe in an interview.

"I believe we have brought together the best team in the world, that we're programmed to gather speed regularly and play on all three fronts: la Liga, the Champions League and the King's Cup."

Perez said the side had been through worse times, especially when Zinedine Zidane joined three years ago.

"With Zidane in la Liga, Real were losing almost all their games. As I remember, we were close to the bottom of the standings," he said.

"Zidane even told us later he was on the verge of calling it quits. And then all of a sudden, his magic, his art, his class silenced everybody."

Perez believes one of the problems Real face is that they not only needed to win but also have to put on a show.

"That's the magic of Real, to field artists who, everywhere in the world, send crowds cheering," he said.

He also hinted that no new players would be brought in during January's transfer window.

"This team will go all the way and win titles," he said.
