Real Madrid will buy Llorente after Athletic Bilbao elections

Real Madrid are expected to buy Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente in the summer.

While there's speculation that Real coach Jose Mourinho hopes to sign on-loan Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor permanently, others say that a deal is all but in place for Llorente to be the Madrid club's major centre-forward signing this summer.

Fernando García Macua, the Bilbao president, has declared he hopes to secure Llorente's signature to a new deal before the elections.

However, even if Llorente does re-sign, it's understood he will be sold to Real immediately after the club's presidential elections.

Any move to Madrid before the vote is a non-starter as Garcia Macua needs Llorente's presence to be assured of re-election.
