Real Madrid watch as Man Utd open Sporting talks over Quaresma

Manchester United have stepped up their bid to bring Sporting Lisbon attacker Ricardo Quaresma to the club next season.

The Sunday Mirror says United have opened talks with Sporting about the versatile winger, who is also on the wanted lists of Juventus and Real Madrid.

Having already secured an alliance agreement with Sporting this season, United are set to seal the deal with the capture of Quaresma from under the noses of their continental rivals.

Quaresma's agent this week confirmed that United were showing strong interest in the youngster.
