Real Madrid want Vieira to demand Arsenal move

Patrick Vieira may be forced to demand a transfer from Arsenal if he is to seal a switch to Real Madrid.

The Sun says Real president Florentino Perez is adamant the Arsenal skipper must make the first move.

Perez expected Vieira, 28, to stun Highbury chiefs this week by handing in the official transfer request his representatives have prepared.

The document would give Perez the upper hand in negotiations over a fee.

The Real supremo pulled out of their Japan tour this week to stay in Spain and work on the deal.

But he is still waiting.

Vieira wants the move to go ahead on his terms, so he can walk out of Highbury after eight years with his head high.
