Real Madrid are looking to bring in Zinedine Zidane's replacement before the start of the World Cup, according to reports in Spain.

Club legend Zidane shocked the world of football when he suddenly announced he would be stepping down as manager just days after winning a third consecutive Champions League.

And according to Spanish publication AS, Madrid are desperate to find a new manager before the tournament kicks off in Russia.

AS report that the managerial situation is affecting strategic decisions at the club, most notably the arrival and departure of players.

The European giants are pushing to get their new man in before the World Cup as they also understand that any announcement would have the shine taken off if it happened during the eagerly-anticipated tournament.

Madrid are going about their business quietly and have looked at Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Despite interest in Pochettino, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is unlikely to let his man leave for the Spanish capital.

Guti has emerged as frontrunner to replace Zidane in the Bernabeu dugout, while Tite has also been linked with the job.

Tite's contract with Brazil expires following their World Cup exploits but he does have the option to renew terms for another four years.
