Real Madrid Want 'Gareth Bale To Take Over From Cristiano Ronaldo'

Real Madrid want a 'Galactico' to replace Cristiano Ronaldo but the Champions Leagues holders already boast a superstar player in the shape of Gareth Bale, and it appears he'll be the clubs main man next season.

The Spanish giants have been linked with a host of players following the mega-sale of Ronaldo to Juventus. He completed a reported £100 million transfer to the Italian club.

Eden Hazard, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, to name but a few, have been eyed up to fill Ronaldo's void.

However, it seems like Real Madrid will pin their hopes on a current player according to Spanish outlet Marca.

The Welsh winger has also been under mounting scrutiny about his future.

After delivering a match-winning performance in last season's Champions League final, Bale plunged his Real Madrid career into doubt by suggesting a move away is possible.

Though Bale has reportedly held positive talks with new manager Julen Lopetegui, and is set to commit his future at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu.

Lopetegui is to play Bale in attack alongside Karim Benzema, and the ex-Spurs ace believes he can show his best under Lopetegui's tutelage.

The reports claims: "Real Madrid are convinced that Bale should be their star player, their 'franchise player', for the 2018/19 season."
