Real Madrid want Arshavin on initial loan deal

Real Madrid are locked in talks over a loan deal for Zenit St Petersburg star Andrei Arshavin.

AS says Real sports chief Pedja Mijatovic wants to sign Arshavin to an initial six-month loan agreement in January with the view to a permanent signing at the end of the season.

Dennis Lachter, Arshavin's agent, said: "His dream is to show his quality to the whole world and the Bernabeu is a great showcase."

"I have no doubt that with Arshavin, Real Madrid will win many titles."
