Real Madrid wait as agents meet to discuss Emerson

A crucial meeting will be held today in Rome to decide the future of AS Roma midfielder Emerson.

The Brazilian's agent, Gilmar Veloz, will be present along with Roma director general Franco Baldini and Juventus representative Mino Raiola.

Roma insist they have agreed a transfer fee with Real Madrid for Emerson and are not interested in selling to arch rivals Juventus. Emerson's favoured destination is Juve and Raiola will support Veloz in attempting to convince Baldini to accept the Turin club's offer over Real.

Real Madrid are convinced they will win Emerson's signature, however Juve director general Luciano Moggi said yesterday that he "has total confidence that Emerson will be joining us".
