Real Madrid striker Raul wrote his name into European football's history books once again, by equalling the 31-year old record held by Gerd Muller for the most goals scored in European club football, after he scored the opener in his sides 3-2 defeat to Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
The veteran striker pounced on a terrible mistake by Milan goalkeeper Dida after 19 minutes to stroke the ball into the empty net for his 66th goal in European club football.
Legendary German striker Muller achieved the feat with Bayern Munich over 11 seasons in European competitions and helped his side capture three European Cups in a row in 1974, '75 and '76 and they also won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1967.
All of Raul's 66 goals have come in Europe's premier competition, the Champions League, in which he has made 128 appearances in 14 seasons while scoring at least twice in the competition each year.
Like Muller he has captured the trophy on three occasions and his record of 66 Champions League goals is ten clear of second place, which is occupied by Real Madrid team-mate Ruud van Nistelrooy.
