Real Madrid turn to Lyon fullback Abidal

Olympique Lyon fullback Eric Abidal is in the sights of Real Madrid sports director Predrag Mijatovic.

Mijatovic has turned to the France international after deciding against a deal yesterday for Juventus defender Gianluca Zambrotta.

Once he has closed the signing of Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, Mijatovic will fly to France next week for talks with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas.
