Real Madrid turn to Inter Milan's Cordova

Real Madrid are turning to Inter Milan defender Ivan Cordova after being beaten by Chelsea for Porto's Ricardo Carvalho.

Real coach Jose Antonio Camacho is demanding a new defender to play alongside summer signing Walter Samuel and rates Colombian captain Cordova very highly.

Inter are happy to do business with Real for Cordova, with the recent signing of Nicolas Burdisso from Boca Juniors earlier this month.

The one stumbling block for Real is Cordova's non-EU status, though that may not be such a problem with Roberto Carlos due a Spanish passport at the turn of the year.
