Real Madrid tried for Fiorentina's Pasquale

The agent of Fiorentina left-back Giovanni Pasquale has revealed Real Madrid tried to sign him before he left Inter Milan last summer.

"(Real GM Arrigo) Sacchi called me asking if there was a chance he could go to Madrid, but negotiations had already begun with Fiorentina," said the defender's agent.

"Sacchi followed him many times while he was at Parma also. But it was Corvino who watched him more. Pasquale is maturing more and more and is becoming a complete player."
