Real Madrid told to wait for Arsenal's Vieira

Real Madrid have opened serious negotiations with Arsenal for midfielder Patrick Vieira.
Marca says talks commenced yesterday, but those close to the Real camp say an outcome won't be known - either way - for at least six days.

Real have reportedly faxed their terms to both Arsenal and the player, but have been informed they will have to wait for an answer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and vice-chairman David Dein intend to spend the coming days trying to convince Vieira to stay at Highbury for at least another season.
