Real Madrid to sign Robinho this week

Real Madrid are hoping to wrap up the signing of Santos star Robinho this week.

The Brazilian international's agents were in talks with Real powerbrokers over the weekend ahead of a deal being agreed possibly inside the next 48 hours.

Real president Florentino Perez, vice-president Emilio Butragueno and general manager Arrigo Sacchi met with Robinho's agent, Juan Figger and his son Marcel, on Saturday to discuss details over the youngster's transfer.

Marcel Figger admitted yesterday: "The subject of Robinho is surely going to be settled within the next three days."

But he added: "We're not here in Madrid to discuss Robinho. We're here to accompany Pele."
