Real Madrid to send Marcelo to Espanyol

Real Madrid are expected to send wing-back Marcelo to Espanyol next season on-loan.

Espanyol chief Paco Herrera met with Real sports director Pedja Mijatovic on the weekend to discuss the possibility of taking several Madrid players on-loan.

Mijatovic is close to agreeing to Marcelo moving to Barcelona this summer, with Miguel Torres regarded as ahead of the Brazil international in the first team reckoning.

Herrera also asked after Ruben de la Red, Javi Garcia and goalkeeper Kike Casillas during the summit.
