According to the Washington Post USA's Major League Soccer is nearing a deal to have the MLS All-Star Game pit the young league's best players against Spanish giants Real Madrid in a July 31st exhibition.
According to the Washington Post USA's Major League Soccer is nearing a deal to have the MLS All-Star Game pit the young league's best players against Spanish giants Real Madrid in a July 31st exhibition.
The match would take place at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Revolution. Madrid's match against the MLS All-Stars could be followed by a game at the Rose Bowl in California, possibly against 2002 MLS Cup holders Los Angeles Galaxy.
Schedule shuffling and television rights seem to be the only hurdles left to clear in the negotiations.
