Real Madrid to play Ballack waiting game with Bayern Munich

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is preparing a bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Ballack.
 
Marca says Ballack has made Perez aware through intermediaries that he wants a move to Real Madrid and would choose them over Manchester United.

Perez is delighted and prepared to take his time over the deal. Real won't go higher than £7 million for the Germany international, who is inside the final year of his contract.

This transfer window represents the last chance Bayern have of making money on Ballack's sale and Perez knows with every week passing the midfielder's price will drop.
