Real Madrid to make Zidane new 2-year contract offer

Real Madrid are considering offering Zinedine Zidane a two-year contract extension.

Both parties have the option of extending his current deal another 12 months - which would keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2006.

However, Real management are ready to rip up that agreement and secure Zidane to a new contract that would keep him at the club until 2007.

Real president Florentino Perez also has another plan for the French ace, with an offer for Zidane to take charge of the club's junior set-up. Zidane would not work as a coach, he has stated regularly that he has no interest in coaching when he retires.

Instead, Zidane would act as an ambassador for the club's youth system, taking advantage of his charisma and ability to relate to Real's younger fans.
