The England captain will sit down with Real president Florentino Perez over the summer to thrash out minor details of the agreement, which will continue at its current £8 million-a-year.
There will be a change in image rights for Beckham, which will help him acquire a mega £80 million over the next four years through advertising and marketing promotions.
Real will take a slice of that mega amount, but Beckham will have a bigger say in his image rights agreement with the club compared to his original contract.
"In July, I will begin negotiations with Real Madrid," said Beckham. "They have confirmed to me they would love to speak with me about a new contract and to see if I can finish my sports career at Real Madrid."
