Real Madrid to help set up school in Iraq

Spanish champions Real Madrid will help to set up a sports school for children in Diwaniya in Iraq, the club announced on Wednesday.

Real president Florentino Perez will sign an agreement to create the school with Spain's defence ministry on Thursday.

Under the agreement, Real Madrid will provide sporting equipment to the school and help train a group of Spanish soldiers to teach basketball and football.

Spain has 1,300 soldiers in Iraq, based in Diwaniya.
