Real Madrid to hand Eriksson full control

England boss Sven Goran Eriksson has been told he'll have complete control of Real Madrid should he accept an offer to join Carlos Sainz's presidential ticket.
 
Sainz said: "The new general manager will have maximum responsibility for the team and every footballing sphere at the club."

"He will decide which players to sign and control every aspect from the first team right down to the youth academy."

That means Eriksson would not have players forced upon him like previous Real bosses.

Danish legend Michael Laudrup and Arsenal's Arsene Wenger are also being linked.

But Eriksson's biggest rival is Juve boss Fabio Capello who is in talks with powerful Real director Ramon Calderon.
