Real Madrid to bust open January market

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will break policy and make a major signing in the January market.

New Real coach Mariano Garcia Remon demanded a new central midfielder as a condition that he take over the reigns from Jose Antonio Camacho this week. Perez gave his approval and will make a major midfield signing when the winter market opens, says AS.

The injuries to Santiago Solari and Zinedine Zidane has strengthened Garcia Remon's position over the urgency of a new midfielder, with doubts remaining over the long-term capability of Albert Celades to hold the engineroom together.

Perez and Garcia Remon have already agreed on the plan after crunch talks following Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Osasuna. There is no going back on the decision and Real will be seeking a major signing as the January market draws near.
